Admissions are provisional. The admission may be cancelled if eligibility is not met or original documents are not submitted.

For the distance/online wing (Centre for Distance and Online Education, University of North Bengal), the refund/cancellation schedule is clearly defined:

• 100% refund: 15 days or more before the formally notified last date of admission.

• 90% refund: Less than 15 days before the notified last date.

• 80% refund: Within 15 days after the last date.

• 50% refund: Within 30 days after last date but more than 15 days.

• 0% refund: More than 30 days after the last date.

There is a separate clause: “Fees once paid after verification of eligibility criteria and confirmation of admission shall not be refundable under any circumstances” for certain programmes/cases.

For regular college admissions, one criterion is that if a student does not submit required migration or registration documents, the admission remains provisional and may be cancelled, sometimes without refund.
