The Department of History is an academically rich department of the Saheed Kshudiram College with six faculty members. Historically, Kamakhyaguri, Alipurduar was a part of the Ancient Tista- Brahmaputra valley, and presently it is the Dooars region of West Bengal with huge natural diversity. Demographically, it is a region where the presence of different tribes and tribal communities are very significant. In this socio-economic and historical perspective, we are continuing our solemn responsibility to improve the scope and quality of the higher education and research. At the same time, the objective of the department is to motivate the students for higher learning, and we are glad to say that our many students are academically leading the different academic and research institutes of the country. Faculties are highly in touch with the national and international historical research and activities. Therefore, presently the department is one of the leading research and learning Institute of the northern Bengal.
